Presto Cut is local-first Windows desktop software. Imported source videos, project files and rendered exports are stored on your computer and are not uploaded to Presto Cut's licensing service.
AI providers
Presto Cut uses the AI provider and API key you configure. Audio segments are sent to that provider for transcription. Transcript text and editing instructions are sent when you use AI cleanup or Shorts selection. Those transfers are governed by the provider's terms and privacy policy. Do not process content you are not authorised to send to that provider.
Licence service
Licence activation sends the AppSumo licence identifier and a one-way computer identifier to Presto Cut's licensing service. The service stores licence tier, status, activation identifiers and operational timestamps so it can enforce device limits and respond to upgrades, downgrades, deactivations and refunds.
Local information
Settings, licence state, projects and diagnostic logs are stored locally under the user's Presto Cut application-data directory. Diagnostic logs may contain transcript text. They are not automatically transmitted to Presto Cut.
Retention and rights
Local projects can be removed from within the app. Licence records are retained while needed to provide the purchase, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations and resolve support issues. To request access, correction or deletion of hosted licence data, email support@getprestocut.com.
Security and changes
Presto Cut uses encrypted transport for its licensing service and Windows-protected local credential storage. No system is completely secure. Material policy changes will be published on this page.
