Terms of Use

Presto Cut is operated by Ian Richard Hamilton, a sole trader trading as Presto Cut in the United Kingdom. These terms govern use of the Presto Cut Windows desktop application. By installing or using it, you agree to these terms.
Licence
A valid purchase grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Presto Cut on the number of computers included in the purchased tier. You may use exported work commercially. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse engineer for circumvention, or share a licence beyond its device allowance except where applicable law permits otherwise.
Trial and standard purchase
The Microsoft Store download includes a three-day software trial and a limited introductory hosted AI allowance of up to 15 minutes of video processing. The allowance may end earlier if its internal safety limit is reached and is not reset by purchasing the software. The regular $79 lifetime licence activates one Windows computer and includes the features advertised for that licence at the time of purchase. After the introductory allowance, AI features use an OpenAI API key supplied by you and associated provider charges are not included.
Your content and external services
You retain ownership of your content and are responsible for having the rights needed to process it. During the introductory allowance, relevant audio and transcript data pass through Presto Cut's hosted trial service to OpenAI. In BYOK mode, AI features use your supported provider account and may incur provider charges. Presto Cut does not control OpenAI and is not responsible for its availability, output or policies.
Software operation
Keep backups of important source media and projects. Editing and AI suggestions should be reviewed before export. The software is provided without a guarantee that every transcript or edit will be error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Support and termination
Support is available at support@getprestocut.com. We may suspend licences used fraudulently or in material breach of these terms. You may stop using the software and uninstall it at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law in your country gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
